2026 Arizona Bowlerettes Scotch Doubles Rules
The Arizona Bowlerettes and its members, will conduct this non-sanctioned March Madness Scotch Doubles tournament on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Lucky Strike Gilbert, 1160 South Gilbert Road, Gilbert, AZ 85296.
● All entries must have a current member of the Arizona Bowlerettes as part of the doubles pair. ● Cost: $40 per entry ● No average or USBC certification required. Open to all bowlers age 18 and over. ● This is a scratch tournament. ● Attire: Bowlers must wear clean, neat, and appropriate clothing. Bowlerette’s shirts are not required for this event.
● Check in at noon, tournament play begins at 1:00 pm ● Winners are determined on three game series total.
● Format - Scotch: Bowlers alternate shots on the same scoresheet, with one bowler throwing the first ball of each frame. Bowler B begins the 2nd game. Bowler A will bowl first with bowler B following. Ex. If bowler A strikes on Frame 1, Bowler B will roll on Frame 2. If bowler A leaves i.e. pins standing, bowler B must complete the frame. Bowlers must alternate through the 10th frame. i.e, bowler A strikes in 10th, Bowler B throws the next ball. Second game will begin with Bowler B.● Ball surface: Bowlers may sand their bowling balls before competition, but cannot alter the surface during competition.
● Prize Fund: is based on the number of entries received. ● Side Pots: Mystery Doubles - $5.00 per three entries (All monies to be paid out). 50/50 - $5.00 for 6 strips or $1 per strip, All monies to be paid.
